PlayStation Plus April 2026 Games Revealed, Sparking Fan Debate

Sony unveiled the PlayStation Plus monthly game lineup for April 2026 early Thursday, triggering mixed reactions from subscribers. The three headline titles—Starfield: Legacy, Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition, and Tekken 8—are now available for download to PS Plus Extra and Premium members.

The announcement comes as PlayStation Plus faces renewed scrutiny over its value proposition. Subscriber growth slowed in 2025, with some users complaining about repetitive game selections. This month’s inclusion of Horizon Forbidden West, originally released in 2022, has drawn particular criticism for being a rehash of older content.

However, Starfield: Legacy, the expanded edition of Bethesda’s space RPG, marks its first appearance on PlayStation after Microsoft’s 2024 acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Analysts suggest this signals continued cooperation between the rival platforms. Tekken 8 joins the service just four months after its retail launch, a surprise move praised by fighting game enthusiasts.

Social media reactions have been polarized. “Giving us a four-year-old game as a ‘new’ PS Plus title is insulting,” tweeted @PSFanatic94, while @GamingDad42 countered, “Starfield alone makes this month worth it.” The debate reflects broader industry tensions as subscription services struggle to balance quantity with quality.

The games are available now through May 5. PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers also gained 15 additional titles today, including Stray 2 and Final Fantasy XVI. Sony confirmed it will announce the May lineup on April 28.
