Masters 2026 Winner Takes Home Record $3.6 Million Prize

The winner of the 2026 Masters Tournament will receive a record $3.6 million payout, the highest in golf major history. Augusta National Golf Club announced the increased purse Sunday morning as the final round began in Augusta, Georgia.

This year's champion's check surpasses the $3.24 million Scottie Scheffler earned for winning the 2024 Masters. The total tournament purse grew to $20 million, up from $18 million last year, continuing the PGA Tour's trend of increasing prize money.

The payout boost comes as golf's popularity surges following recent high-profile tournaments and the PGA-LIV Golf merger. Fans are searching for prize details as the final round unfolds, with several top players in contention Sunday afternoon.

Second place will earn $2.16 million, while third takes $1.36 million. Even players who miss the cut receive $10,000, a standard practice at majors. The Masters remains the most lucrative event in golf despite other tournaments raising purses.

Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley said the increases reflect the tournament's growing global prestige. The club uses Masters revenues to fund golf development programs while maintaining its tradition as the sport's most exclusive event.

Viewers can watch the final round on CBS until 7 p.m. ET Sunday. The winner will don the iconic green jacket during the evening ceremony at Augusta's Butler Cabin.
