Chick-fil-A Shooting Leaves 3 Injured In Florida Mall

A shooting at a Chick-fil-A inside a Florida mall left three people injured Saturday afternoon, sending shoppers scrambling for safety. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the Town Center at Boca Raton, according to Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Teri Barbera.

Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots near the fast-food restaurant's seating area. Two victims were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, while a third refused medical treatment. No arrests had been made as of Saturday evening.

The shooting comes amid heightened national concern about gun violence in public spaces. This marks at least the third violent incident at a Chick-fil-A location in the past year, though company representatives stress these are isolated events unrelated to the chain.

Mall security quickly locked down portions of the shopping center while deputies searched for suspects. Social media footage showed frightened customers sheltering in place as law enforcement responded. The investigation remains active, with detectives reviewing surveillance footage and witness statements.

Chick-fil-A corporate issued a statement saying they're "deeply saddened" by the incident and cooperating fully with authorities. The restaurant chain, known for its family-friendly image, temporarily closed the location following the shooting.

The Boca Raton shooting is trending nationally as it follows recent high-profile incidents of violence in retail spaces. Community leaders have scheduled a vigil Sunday evening near the mall to call for peace and support victims.
